Time Stopped at Fort Amsterdam

Maluku - There have been many people know that the eastern part of Indonesia natural beauty promising a more fascinating than the other tourist destinations which are generally known and has been transformed into a touristic area too. But all agree that to reach the East Indonesia faced constraints that limited transportation facilities support. When we reached the area we tujupun, again facing the problem of transportation. However, kanapa should be worried? Does not allow ourselves to get lost in a world truly new, we will only find the diamonds that have not been honed during our trip?

Well, for those who choose adventure with a safe and secure facility, is now available alternate routes using the Garuda plane. Garuda's fleet who fly every day to Ambon will transit for half an hour in Makassar. Digunakanpun relatively new aircraft, the Boeing 737-800. Route flights to both cities revived because of Makassar and Ambon may be regarded as a starting point to explore the beauty of eastern Indonesia that captivate.
From Makassar, a person can choose whether to roam the plains as far as Sulawesi, the Sangihe Talaud, or sail with a powerful Bugis sailors exploring the islands of Nusa Tenggara and stunned to witness one of the wonders of the world on the island of Komodo. However, continued for one and half hour trip to Ambon also not impossible, because the island is the starting point of diversity waiting to be enjoyed.
Peace Island CloudWhen I explore Ambon last weekend, the shadow of the ruins and post-post inspection as indicated on national television I did not really come across. Precisely the streets paved smooth (smoother than the streets in Jakarta), and stretching ambon economy's fast-paced society, impressed me how heaven has ever preached was torn unrest has risen gradually.
There are many activities that I attended while I was in Ambon, from snorkelling, exploring the woods, watching the show up to admire the historic relics. One thing I have never forgotten from all the activities that I follow, that the people of Ambon in fact are the people who love peace and accept the differences with a wide smile.
Immortality Secrets of Fort AmsterdamFort Amsterdam is one place that I go diving in Ambon. Located in the village of Hila, this building was actually the second fort built by the Dutch in the 17th century and serves to deflect attacks merchant ships of the Dutch competitor who intends to seize the city of Ambon as the basis for their trade. Since the castle first, van Nerre Castle, destroyed, practically the oldest building of Fort Amsterdam is Dutch heritage in the island of Ambon.
The building is almost rectangular It has a thick wall between one and a half meters. The exterior of the building made of stone and its interior is divided into two, namely laintai primary and second floor are paved with iron wood. Both the structure of the building and the wood used is still strong support virtually anyone who wants to know the corners of Fort Amsterdam, except the balcony. When I visited Fort Amsterdam, the security fence has collapsed balcony eroded sea air.
Yet this is the view from the balcony of Ambon Bay and Cape Leihitu unfold in front of the eye. Clear, calm sea and the hills on the other side to throw my imagination 350 years ago when the Dutch had conquered the entire archipelago of Portuguese hands.Pepper, nutmeg and other spices are worth more than emaslah that actually makes Ambon is the only region in Indonesia that foreign nations feel the occupation for three and a half centuries.
Peace VillageHila village is a reflection of Ambon and I really merekomendaskan village and this castle as a starting point for exploring the beauty of Ambon. In this Hila village located two sites terua religious buildings are the Church and Mosque Wapauwe Hila.
Hila Church is a wooden building which was founded the same year to Fort Amsterdam and is located adjacent to the castle area. This building was renovated in the 1880s after destroyed by the earthquake and stand back until today.
Mapauwe Mosque is the oldest mosque in Ambon with a mixture of building structures of wood and stone. In this mosque there are relics of the propagator of Islam in Ambon and artifacts of the Koran written by hand.
During the riots occurred Hila village population who are Christians are saved by a Muslim population that surrounds them. Currently, residents of different faiths are again living side by side in peace, as practiced by their ancestors since hundred years ago.
Lots of areas on the island of Ambon, which has not been excavated and known to the outside world. With easier access to flights and accommodation facilities that support, the potential of tourism in these islands is a promising asset, especially from Ambon anyone can continue their adventures farther east into the more distant destinations, where the adventure is only a small part of our experience blend with the natural beauty of Indonesia.
