Jambi - On the 10th day of our adventure, precisely dated 6 October 2010, we arrived at Kerinci regency. Faced with a mountain of Kerinci, there are the Seven Mountains, which is also set up a cluster of mountain of Bukit Barisan mountain range and is one of the attractions of the National Park Kerinci Seblat (TNKS). Why mountain called Seven that is because there are 7 mountain nearby, among others: Upper Mount Tebo (2.525masl), Upper Mount Sangir (2.330masl), Iron Mountain Madura (2.418masl), Gunung Lumut (2.350masl), Mount Basil (2230 masl), Mount Jar Bake (2.469masl), and Mount Seven (2.735masl). Among the seven mountain, there is a lake of Mount Seven which is the highest lake before reaching Southeast Asia that is located 1950 meters above sea level (asl). Hearing that information makes me very excited to climb it, though frankly I've never climbed the mountain at all.
We left a little lunch, at 9 am because of yesterday evening, the rain until morning Kerinci region, mileage to the foot of the mountain lake Seven of seven gates rather than post TNKS, Pelompek Village, District Kayu Aro, ie approximately 5 KM to the degree of tilt to 75 degrees. Very tiring, until we stopped many times to rest in the middle of the journey. We climbed to the summit takes approximately 3 hours. And for this trip, our team just took a big bag containing food supplies. We took turns carrying it. I myself can not imagine if I brought a large bag containing food and clothing that must be taken every climber. We may take longer to get there.
Path to reach the top of the mountain known Seven easy. Perhaps to climb the mountain village pelompek Seven of these are no longer required a compass. This is because the path to reach the top is clearly visible from frequently traveled climber.Line is also formed like a ladder that the steps are formed from tree roots. After reaching the peak, but due to the humid area, you must be careful with the slippery ground. Seven mountain to reach the lake, we had to come down again as far as approximately 200 meters. This is where the 'struggle' I paid. Although the fog was beginning to fall, we can still enjoy the beauty of Seven mountain lakes. After the tour, I ate avidly because of hunger. However, it is not justified. Because when passing through the rise and fall of the mountain Seven, my stomach felt very ill. This is because the stomach to work very hard to process food.
There are lessons from this Seven mountain climbing. I make the following tips for novice mountaineers Other:
- Regular exercise at least a week earlier.
- Must frequently train and walking foot.
- Must be good at breathing training.
- Bringing goods to taste depending on the needs and placement in a balanced bag.
- Eat and drink sufficiently before departure.
- Wearing sandals comfortable mountain (not too tight or loose).
- Leave early in order to avoid the fog (specify time bright), although it is actually depends on the weather, but could ask the people around for a fitting.
- Navigation Equipment
Basically not much different hiking with walking exercise. However, hiking is more severe due to be walked up. If you are accustomed to exercising, you certainly can easily pass through the incline to the top of a mountain.
